Parametric optimization of steel lattice portal frame with chs structural members

The paper has proposed a mathematical model for parametric optimization problem of the steel lattice portal frame. design variable vector includes geometrical parameters structure (node coordinates), as well cross-sectional dimensions structural members. system constraints covers load-carrying capacities formulated all sections members subjected to ultimate load case combinations. displacements specified nodes serviceability combinations have been also included into constraints. Additional requirements in form on lower and upper values variables, permissible minimal thicknesses, maximum diameter-to-thickness ratio with circle hollow sections, conditions designing gusset-less welded joints between considered scope model. method objective function gradient projection onto active surface simultaneous correction violations used solve problem. New optimal layouts frame by criterion minimum weight, costs manufacturing erection presented.
